October 2017 Wrap up

I have decided to start posting my reading stats. The only thing you need to know about that is that for the number of pages I read is only based on the books I have finished. Mostly because I forget to mark down the number of pages I read on books that get DNFed. That being said here are my stats:

Total Books Read: 3

Total Pages Read: 1,569

Total Books DNFed: 1

For more details and more in depth review I do have full reviews for each book that I read. Also the point of the books I read in September and October was to get the spooky vibes going for Halloween since Halloween is my favorite “holiday”.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

So… All I’m going to say is that I ended up putting this book on my DNF list. I’m actually pretty sad about not like this book because I really wanted to like it but just couldn’t get into it. I do plan and on picking this up again in a few years.

Pet Sematary by Stephan King

I have two reasons why I chose Pet Sematary over It. First It is huge! Its almost 1200 pages and I had other books I wanted to read before November. Secondly I watched the movie Pet Sematary a couple years ago and didn’t sleep after watching it. Now for the book I gave it four out of five stars just because it wasn’t as scary as I had hoped it was going to be. That being said I think if you have a child or children it would be absolutely horrifying.

There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

This is Stephanie Perkins first thriller novel and personally I think calling this a thriller is a stretch. I would call this a romance with some murder. I did give this book a three out of five stars just because it was a kind of meh read and the ending is what saved it from being a two star read. Definitely a great book for those who don’t read thriller or get scared easily.

Another Omnibus by Yukito Ayatsuji

Fair warning going into this book you need to know how to read manga and there is a lot of gore. For me this was a five star read which isn’t surprising because I did really enjoy the anime. There is a lot of gore but the fact that its in black and white for the most part really helps it not be as gross. If you don’t know what omnibus is its a book that contains multiple volumes that are usually published separately. So this being omnibus it has the full Another series (contains all four volumes) making this a super thick manga. Its 720 pages. I also want to mention that in you are looking for a quick read this would be great for that because it only took me about 6 hours to read and that’s including stretching since my back was hurting the whole time I read this.

So this wasn’t my best month but that’s alright. I do have reviews for all these books. If you are reading this when its first posted it will be about two-ish days before the review for Another is up. If you have any question or opinions on these books feel free to comment down below.
