May 2017 Wrap Up

May has been a great reading month! I haven’t been able to read nine books in a month in a long time. As in it’s been years! Sadly….. This month gave me a nostalgic feeling since I read part of both of these series YEARS ago which made it really nice to go back and finish/ work on finishing these series. I am going to be doing a whole separate blog post reviewing these books.

Anyways the first book I read this month was Inferno by Dan Brown. I am a HUGE fan of the Robert Langdon Series. Now I have not read any of Dan Brown’s other books, not because I don’t want to. But after reading his books I need a bit of a break. Part of the reason I wanted to read Inferno is because it has been made into a movie and I wanted to read the book first (which is the opposite of what I did with Angles and Demons and The Da Vinci Code). Personally I thought the book was great even though it only has a 3.8 star rating on Goodreads. As far as the movie goes it was good not as good as the other two in the series and compared to the book its way different… As in it doesn’t end the same way which was disappointing.

The other eight books I read were the first eight book in A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. After reading Inferno this series is a nice break since its a middle grade series. A Series of Unfortunate Events has a special place in my heart because its the books 1-6 that first got me into reading when I was younger. For some reason I didn’t finish these books back then. I have no idea why. With the books none becoming a series on Netflix (which I’m a fan of) I decided to go back and read the whole series finally. As of today I am part way through book nine and once I finish all 13 I will be doing a review for the series as a whole.
